Richard Davis earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Auburn University, where he performed in nine mainstage performances and served as the Master Electrician for two more. As well as performing, he has served as a Dialect Coach, Assistant Director, and Lighting Designer for the Auburn Area Community Theatre. He also holds a Bachelors of Science in Microbiology and is currently a Ph.D. student in Drug Development and Discovery. His passion is the meeting of science and the arts, and loves to share the joy that theatre brings with the community.

Andrea Holliday, AACT Artistic Director:
Andrea Holliday studied theatre at University of Montevallo and at Auburn University. She is currently the Artistic Director for AACT, and is passionate about bringing new people into the AACT family- just because it is fun. Her day job is in Engineering at EAMC.

Ashley is an Opelika native and Auburn University graduate. She has been with AACT since 2009. She performed in Dearly Beloved and All I Really Need to Know I Learned In Kindergarten as well as 4 SceneWorks shows. She has also worked backstage for 5 AACT productions. This is her second SceneWorks to work as a director. Recently she has been fortunate enough to have several small roles in film and television and hopes to continue working both on stage and film.

Malcolm Webster is a long standing member of the Auburn Area Community Theatre. He has held many roles, both backstage and onstage. Malcolm most recently was seen in Funny Money as Mr. Big aka Mr. Brurfcurse. Malcolm thanks the support of his AACT family, his friends, co-workers, and family for their support!

Michael Prickett has been involved with AACT since 2008, when he first appeared in "The Haunting of Hill House". He has since then been involved in over 10 productions at two community theaters. This is his first time directing and he hopes to continue working behind the scenes for future shows.

Laurie Brenden is a Teaching Artist with a passion for community theater, which she got involved in at an early age. She is a trained stage painter who prefers to make the magic happen backstage rather than under the bright lights.

Gibbs Couch enjoys theatre and tends to become more dramatic than necessary on too many occasions. While attending the University of Montevallo (Alabama College) she participated in several productions. She is a member of OLLI at Auburn University where she leads a class in Storytelling and co-leads a class in American Theatre. This has been a great experience. She will compete for a Tony next summer.

Peggy Stelpflug is the proud mother of 5 and grandmother of 9. She is a former English teacher at AHS and AU.
Writing, watercolor painting, traveling, and participating in OLLI are her favorite activities.
She performed in plays with Marquette University Players and Auburn Community Theatre.

Jackie Mize

Jackie Mize is Professor Emerita at Auburn University. She was president of the high school drama club and appeared in two small productions that were performed for the student body. SceneWorks is the first acting "class" ever for Jackie, and her first acting experience since high school. It's probably the most fun she's had since high school, too!

Zach Shafer has recently found an interest in the theater area and has been enjoying it ever since. He is going to Auburn University to major in Music Education and has been in band playing trumpet for 7 years. He aspires to one day have his music career as a DJ to take off or even become a high school music teacher."

Jacob is from Roanoke, Alabama and has recently gotten into Theatre during his studies at Southern Union. He is currently attending Auburn University. This is his first performance at Jan Dempsey, but he hopes to come back for more in the future."

Born in Auburn, Ben Parsons is a film major with a concentration on directing at Watkins College of Art, Design and Film, which he will attend in the fall in Nashville, Tennessee. Some of his other roles include Walter Cunningham and Mr. Gilmer in To Kill a Mockingbird, Harvey Johnson Sr. in Bye Bye Birdie, King Maximilian in Rodgers' and Hammerstein’s Cinderella and Karl Lindner in A Raisin in the Sun, which was his debut for AACT. Ben is also an accomplished screenwriter, having written ten feature length scripts within the past two years.
